Man Bites Dog

My son Chase sent me this article about prison reform. It’s long but pretty interesting, focusing on how Mississippi of all places managed to get prison rights advocates–the ACLU particularly–and prison officials to work together and make the system better. The subject of prisons is important, but even more notable is the way in which people managed to cooperate, rather than grandstanding for political purposes. How is this possible?
