Os Guinness and the Art of Persuasion

Christianity Today has posted my interview with Os Guinness, talking about his latest book, Fool’s Talk: Recovering the Art of Christian Persuasion (InterVarsity Press). Guinness is a thoughtful man who has some worthwhile things to say.

I don’t know if you remember, but I went to L’Abri for a couple of months the same time as Oz Guiness was there (and his wife-to-be also). In any case, it’s nice to find out that he is still going strong and was interviewed by you. On the other hand, I think the orthodox view would be to say that Western Christianity in general went off track by focussing so much on the mind, on reason alone, etc. rather bringing the mind back to the heart. Something like that.

I think your “orthodox” comment is a good one, and one that Os–many years after l’Abri–would largely agree with.
