To Zion!

We had a lot of highlights on our recent road-trip vacation, but the best was Zion National Park. It is really grand, a Desert Yosemite. Our hike up The Narrows was possibly the most stimulating I have ever taken. You’re wading the river at least a third of the time, the canyon keeps getting narrower, and the canyon walls rise in sinuous reds and browns at least a thousand feet overhead. Intoxicating. What an amazing world God has made.

Seeing Utah, I can’t help believing that God’s mind is much bigger than ours. The splendor of harsh and gigantic beauty makes Jackson Pollock seem small-minded.
