Saint, Crank, Martyr

My review of a recent biography of Gandhi, “Saint, Crank, Martyr,” has been published in Books and Culture. Gandhi is a fascinating figure to consider as you think about models of activism. (John Woolman, reviewed in my previous post, is another, and one who is oddly similar to Gandhi. Woolman was arguably more effective, if far less known.)
